Olsens Marketplace IGA is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours are the same year-round.

We serve Ajo, Why, Gila Bend, Lukeville, Sells and the Tohono O’odham Nation, plus travelers headed to Sonoyta and Puerto Peñasco (Rocky Point), Mexico. We are the only full-service grocery and ACE Hardware store on a rural 40-mile stretch of Arizona desert highway.

Olsens Marketplace IGA in Ajo is the nearest full-service grocery store to the monument. We’re about 33 miles north on Arizona Highway 85, roughly a 45-minute drive, at 1961 Ajo Gila Bend Highway.

Olsens is right on AZ-85, the main route south through Why and Lukeville to Sonoyta and Rocky Point. Pick up groceries, cold drinks, snacks, beach and camping supplies, and a hot meal from the Patio Cafe before you cross.

Yes. We carry 7 lb and 16 lb bags of cubed ice and 10 lb block ice in our Frozen Foods department.

Olsens Marketplace is family-owned and women-owned. It was founded in 1992 by Don Olsen and Bryanne Olsen, joined IGA in 2004, and is led today by owner Bryanne Olsen and Store Manager Maribel Reyes.

Olsens has received the IGA Five Star Retailer Award and was named Rural Grocer of the Year in 2024.

Olsens Patio Cafe serves burgers and sandwich combos like the BLT, Green Chile Burger, Philly Cheesesteak and Reuben, appetizers like onion rings, jalapeño poppers and fried okra, fresh fried chicken, chef-specialty daily specials, milk shakes and hand-dipped ice cream. The Patio Cafe is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The grill opens at 10:00 AM, and daily specials are available after 11:30 AM. Call 520-387-4540 to order.

We serve fresh-brewed coffee made with beans from Curley Coffee Roasters, a local roaster in Ajo.

Yes. Olsens ACE Hardware is inside Olsens Marketplace, with a full-line Paint Studio, power tools, plumbing and electrical supplies (including parts for pre-World War II homes), ADA upgrades, pool chemicals, RV supplies, and special orders of lumber and building materials.

Olsens ACE Hardware is open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Sunday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Yes. Our ACE department special orders ACE products and receives them on our regular ACE delivery schedule, and our grocery team will research and order products you are looking for.

Our meat department carries Gold Canyon Premium Angus, Clear River Farms and 1855 Black Angus beef; Swift and Seaboard pork; Patuxent Farms, Wayne Sanderson, Tyson and organic Regal Crest chicken; Marco Farms lamb; Force of Nature elk, venison and bison; and handcrafted German pork sausage and Kammann German sausage.

Yes. We carry an extensive selection of Mexican, Japanese, Filipino, Indian and Italian foods, plus Arizona-made flour and corn tortillas from small vendors in Tucson, Phoenix and Yuma.

Yes. Our beverage department carries local Arizona breweries including SanTan, Four Peaks and PHX Beer, plus national IPAs, wine and liquor. You must be 21 or older with a valid ID.
